איסור נדה לאחר כריתת רחם – English

שאלה:

For medical reasons I must have a complete hysterectomy removing the ovaries, tubes and complete uterus.
I have a gene marker that makes me susceptible to cancer that has taken the life of my mother and aunt. The likelihood is 85% and therefore the surgeon will make sure to take everything out.
The problem is that I am temeiah to my husband and will be unable to become tehora before the hysterectomy is scheduled.
The doctors say I may bleed for months afterwards but it obviously won't be blood form the uterus.
After the surgery when can I be tovel? What must I do beforehand? Hefsek? Bedikos?
What am I looking for?
It is a very trying time and I really do not want to wait any more than is absolutely necessary. The harchakos are also a big concern of mine. After the surgery, must we be careful about harchakos?
The procedure will be done laparoscopically and the uterus removed vaginally.
Without any uterus may I go to the mikve immediately without bedikos?

תשובה:

After the operation, Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach ruled that seven "clean days" need to pass by before you may immerse in the mikva. However, there is no need to do any bedikos. I should note that

removal of the uterus is something that should only be done after consultation with a rabbinic authority
