Taking on performance of more mitzvos

Question:

In summary. I’ve learnt middos for 13 years in my yeshiva. I didn’t know until 17 years old (after graduation) that this is the path that I’m gonna choose for a lifetime. Honestly, this is why I wasn’t paying much attention in class when taught about Mitzvos. I like this website because I’ve learnt a lot of useful things to improve in prayer. I keep modesty at full. Shomer N. at full. I’ve recently started on lighting Shabbos candles as well. I keep all fasts throughout all holidays. Some examples of things that I already do. This isn’t much but I know that the faster you run the faster you fall. I wasn’t at rush. I’d like to start to add more things, if possible to hear some more opinions. This website has good tips always. I’m planning in the future, after I’d find the one to maybe take courses or get a personal mentor. For now, I want to cover basics and not have a whole pile of things falling over my shoulders in the nearest future, if that makes sense. This websites guidance would greatly be appreciated. Thank you.

Answer:

Thank you for your response, and your clear answer. Now I understand your personal situation better. From what I understand of your current level, I would suggest that you add something that is related to keeping Shabbos better of enhancing your level of keeping kosher. If you would like to work on keeping kosher, and learning the different laws, I would suggest getting a book called The Kosher Kitchen By Rabbi B. Forst, and if you want to work on keeping Shabbos better there is a set of books by Rabbi Simcha Bunim Cohen, which is printed by Artscroll. It is a number of different books. You can possible get one at a time. They are very clear, and concise.

If any of these suggestions are not on the mark, please let me know, why, so I understand better.

Best wishes
