Sesame

A. Turn the bag from side to side, looking for webbing. If webbing is present, do not use the sesame.
B. Spread out, a little at a time, on a white surface and check between the seeds. Look for insects, worms (Illustration 416), or clumps of seeds that are stuck together by sticky webbing (Illustration 417). Continue checking until the entire amount to be used is checked.
If definite infestation is found, do not use the sesame, because it is hard to be sure of getting everything out.
Dark dots on the sesame, or a black tip, are not signs of infestation (Illustration 418).

Sesame, whole

Procedure is the same. More likely to harbor infestation.
