Jelly (jam)

Before making jelly in a factory or at home, the fruit must be checked or cleaned thoroughly.

Jelly made from finely ground fruit

May be eaten.

Preserves made from whole fruits

1.If the fruit is not muchzak betola’im (e.g. apricots): may be eaten.
2.If made from fruit that is muchzak betola’im (e.g. strawberries): may be eaten only if produced under strict kashrus supervision that ensures that the fruit was cleaned.
