Question:
Is it correct that whilst travelling from one place to another, known in halachic language as being on a ‘tiyul’, stopping (briefly) at a store with the intention to leave and continue the tiyul doesn’t create a shinnui makom. Eg stopping to fill gas on a long driver.
My question is regarding what if the stop was longer? For example, if on my way home from learning, I stop in the supermarket for 10 minutes? When I entered the supermarket, I knew that I would continue my tiyul home as soon as I finished, but does the length of time in the supermarket create a shinnui makom? What if it was longer – half an hour in the supermarket? Or if I went to a minyan on the way home?
Thank you very much
Answer:
Please explain where you started eating, and what your intentions were as far as continuing to eat?
Thanks
